Bernadine Landreth, age 95, of Flora, Illinois, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 3, 2021, at Flora Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.

   She was born December 23, 1925, in Flora, Illinois, the daughter of Frank Engelmeier Sr. and Ellen (Dunigan) Engelmeier.  She was united in marriage to Leo McNeil in 1952, in Flora, and he preceded her in death on December 14, 1973.  She later married Bennie Landreth in 1990, and he preceded he in death June 28, 1997.

   Bernadine was a cook for many years and worked at Flora International Shoe Company until it closed.  She later cleaned homes until retiring in 1990.  She was a longtime member of the Flora VFW Auxiliary, and she will especially be remembered for the love she shared with her dog, “Tiny.” 

   She is survived by a sister-in-law: Dorothy Engelmeier of Flora; a nephew: Micheal (Kristal) Engelmeier of Flora; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends: Brenda Kessel, Diana Pemberton, and Dianne Perrine.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; 4 siblings: Frank Engelmeier Jr., Margaret Billington, Harvey Engelmeier, and Evelyn Engelmeier; and several nieces and nephews.

   A graveside ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2021, at Elmwood Cemetery in Flora, where interment will follow.  Those attending are asked to arrive at the cemetery.   Memorial donations in her memory are suggested to any charity of the donor’s choice, and these will be accepted through the funeral home.  To share a condolence or memory, visit: www.frankandbright.com
