Funeral Ceremony: 11 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2021, at Sailor Springs Christian Church
Interment: Dillman Cemetery
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Sunday evening, July 11, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, and 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church
Clifford W. Bailey, age 84, of Sailor Springs, Illinois, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021, at Clay County Hospital.
He was born April 2, 1937, in Clay County, Illinois, the son of Forrest and Myrtle (Potts) Bailey. He was united in marriage to Joann Gill on May 31, 1958, and together they have shared 63 wedding anniversaries.
Clifford had worked at the International Shoe Company, Fedders in Effingham, Southwire, and retired after serving as the Sailor Springs Postmaster for a number of years. He was a longtime dedicated member and elder at Sailor Springs Christian Church. He enjoyed putting out a big garden each year and had been an active coon hunter.
He is survived by his wife: Joann Bailey of Sailor Springs; 2 daughters: Teresa Bailey and husband Harold Barbour of Spring Grove and Tammy Bailey of Sainte Marie; a sister: Eileen Green of Indiana; a brother: Ralph Bailey and wife Charlene of Louisville; 2 sisters-in-law: Iris Bailey of Pana and Judy Carder of Clay City; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings: Agnes Coe Dell Hilligoss, Forrest Berdett Bailey, Lloyd Othal Bailey, Arden Bernell Bailey, and Arthur Leon Bailey; and a son-in-law: Bob Frye.
A funeral ceremony will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2021, at Sailor Springs Christian Church with Tim Schnautz officiating. Interment will follow in Dillman Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday evening, July 11, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, and 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church. Love and prayers for the family. My heart is heavy. Clifford always had a smile and kind word. He never lost his patience with us kids growing up. A wonderful man and pillar of the community. He will be greatly missed.

Praying for you guys. Clifford was a wonderful person. I enjoyed all the times we coon hunted together. He is in Heaven now and that is the best reward for all he has done!

So sorry to hear of Clifford's passing. I am a distant cousin - Helen Limes was my mother. Aunt Myrtle was my Grandma Mildred Barton's aunt. I have fond memories of going to see Uncle Forrest and Aunt Myrtle with my grandparents. May they all rest in the arms of the Lord.
