Chance M. Young, age 18, of Flora, IL died at 1:10 PM on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 in Effingham County, IL as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

He was born November 29, 1993 in Charleston, IL to Wade Young and Jamie Lynn (Erwin) Young. Chance had a big heart and loved life. He liked spending time with his friends, enjoyed being around little kids, and loved spending time outdoors going fishing, swimming, camping, and riding horses.

He is survived by his father: Wade Young of Flora; mother: Jamie (Terry) Plowman of Effingham; brother: Mason Young of Effingham; paternal grandmother: Judy Young of Flora; maternal grandmother: Pam Erwin (friend Joe Borris) of Effingham; step-brothers and step-sisters: Jessica, Miranda, Santana, Tyler; aunts: Lisa (Rick) Miller of Edgewood, Jennifer Erwin of Mattoon, Jodi Erwin (friend Martin Durbin) of Altamont; uncle: Jeff (Carrie) Young of Florida; niece: Jenee`; cousins: Lindsey, Jake, Danyell, Kaleb, Madison; girlfriend: Destiny Scott of Flora. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather (Donald Young), and maternal grandfather (Dan Erwin).

The funeral service for Chance Young will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora. Burial will be in the Oskaloosa Cemetery, Xenia. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until time of service on Thursday at Frank & Bright Funeral Home. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the family to help assist with expenses.
