Julie J. Smith, age 58, of Leavenworth, TX passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO.

Julie was born in Champaign-Urbana, IL and grew up in Wheaton, IL. She traveled and lived in South Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Kansas, working as a Project Manager and Software Engineer. She always enjoyed a good joke, a good golf game, and a good book.

She is survived by her sisters, Suzette Walston of Atlanta, GA, Holly Baillie of Elgin, IL, her twin Sallie Rourk of Leavenworth, KS, her brother, Dan Smith of Darien, IL, and her step-mom, Carol Smith of Flora, IL. She also leaves behind her very special friends Pennie Fatheree of Xenia, IL, and Jim Rogers of Wasilla, Alaska. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Hoda and Maude Smith of Xenia, IL, her father, W. Harry Smith of Flora, IL, and her mother Ruth Lesniak of Wheaton, IL.

Services for Julie Smith will be held at Xenia Community Church on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11AM. Burial will follow the service at the Oddfellows Cemetery in Xenia. Memorials can be sent to Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, IL.
